State Champion Duxbury Squirt A team! They went undefeated this weekend in Springfield and earned DYH a state championship. The Dragons defeated Milton 2-1 in the Championship after defeating Lexington-Bedford earlier in the day 1-0. The Dragons also defeated Dorchester, Reading and tied Milton earlier in the tournament. Coach Campbell, Coach Crowley, and Coach Copp did an amazing job teaching this talented group of kids how to work hard, have fun, stay focused, and play flawless team hockey. Unbelievable job guys, Duxbury is fortunate to have you.
Stevie Pisani was a giant in net all weekend, behind the stout defense of Johnny Campbell, Jack Venturelli, Ben Luscko, and Nick DeMio.
Forwards Teddy Griffin, Cullen Hunt, Liam Copp, James Lawlor, Harry Settel, Will Crowley, Tanner Smith, and Drake Hadley stifled their opponents all over the ice and scored some beautiful goals. Teammates Olivia O'Brien and Kevin Reynolds weren't able to attend, and were sorely missed. Their hard work all year helped earn the team the opportunity to represent our town at the state championship tournament. This is Duxbury's first Squirt Tier II State Championship in 12 years.
Great accomplishment team, we're all proud!
